Jennifer Bernstein, MD

Jennifer Bernstein, MD, is a board-certified Chicago psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of adults with mood and anxiety disorders, with a special interest in women’s reproductive mental health.

She provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and individualized treatment, bringing to her patients extensive expertise in psychopharmacology as well as training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. When appropriate for optimal care, Dr. Bernstein works collaboratively with other therapists who practice a range of therapeutic modalities.

Dr. Bernstein takes special care to offer her patients a warm and welcoming environment, treating every patient with the dignity each deserves, and fostering trust through empathy, compassion, and open communication.

Utilizing treatment approaches that may include psychotherapy and medication, among other modalities, Dr. Bernstein strives to improve not only symptoms, but also one’s day-to-day quality of life and well-being.

Dr. Bernstein is a native Chicagoan. Upon completion of her medical training, she spent seven years in New York City on the faculty of Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center.

In 2019, Dr. Bernstein and her family returned home to Chicago, where she opened up her private practice.

The office is a short drive from both the Fullerton and Belmont exits off Lakeshore Drive. There is ample metered parking on Diversey, as well as hourly parking in the AT&T building across the street.You can usually find unmetered sports in the neighborhood as well, especially if you go further north or east.
